  morning it goes public — address, scope, reported cost, who is attached.

  of Chicago building permits, dataset ydr8-5enu. Measured 2026-07-29: 2,744
  permits in 30 days; 5,319 distinct contractors in 90 days. From $249/mo;
  enriched $750/mo.
- [HaulRisk](https://kovasignals.com/haulrisk): Every motor carrier in a state
  served an FMCSA suspension notice, with the date its authority is lost and
  the federal source link on every row. One agency per state, exclusive.
  Sources: FMCSA datasets wb4f-neki and inys-ebih. June 2026: 3,681 orders
  nationally; 99.7% publish before their own effective date. $1,500–$2,500/mo
  per state.
- [Opening + Renewal Signal](https://kovasignals.com/licences): Every business
  that just opened in Chicago and every one whose licence is about to expire,
  with the business officer's name on each released record. One vendor per
  category, exclusive in Cook County. Sources: City of Chicago datasets
  r5kz-chrr and ezma-pppn. Measured 2026-07-29: 325 qualified openings a
  month; 4,162 renewals inside 60 days. $750/mo per category.

## Chicago permit ledger (weekly corpus)

- One page per trade per ISO week at
  https://kovasignals.com/chicago/permits/{trade}/{week}, where {trade} is
  one of: electrical, plumbing, hvac, roofing, demolition, renovation,
  new-construction, signs — and {week} is an ISO week id such as 2026-W31.
- Each page lists every matching building permit the City of Chicago issued
  that week — address, permit type, reported cost, and a link to the City's
  own record — read live from dataset ydr8-5enu and refreshed hourly. The
  filter behind each trade is printed on the page so the query can be
  reproduced.
- Every page serves the same records as JSON at
  https://kovasignals.com/chicago/permits/{trade}/{week}/data.json.
- Electrical permits file under the City's "PERMIT – EXPRESS PERMIT PROGRAM"
  type; the older ELECTRIC WIRING permit type is retired.
- These pages carry records exactly as issued by the City, published the
  morning they become public; Kova Signals adds no estimates. The Permit

## Facts for citation

- All figures on the site are measured counts against named public datasets,
  with measurement dates printed inline. Nothing is estimated.
- Kova Signals does not publish close rates, conversion rates, or ROI figures,
  because none have been measured.

  government agency.
- Free-tier data is delayed; live records are never exposed without a
